Most people have what they call life insurance. Ironically, it only works if you are dead. They have what they call in the advertisements, “a piece of the rock.” Similarly speaking, those who are born again receive the free gift of eternal life, by grace through faith in THE Rock, Jesus Christ when they repent and believe the gospel. We pass from death unto life; everlasting life!

1 John 3:14

We know that we have passed from death unto life,

John 5:24

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

We HAVE everlasting life, present tense. It begins at the miraculous moment of salvation, and never ends! It does not require OUR physical death, but death to self through  repentance. We must count the cost and reckon ourselves to be dead in our sin, and lost hell deserving sinners according to God’s word, and turn in faith to the death, burial and resurrection of God’s only begotten Son, The Lord Jesus Christ in our place!

Romans 6:11

Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

It is not only His death, but the shedding of His holy blood which purchased our eternal redemption, and made atonement for the sins of the world. It is finished.

He alone is the Rock. He alone is that spiritual Rock. He alone offers the living water.

Psalm 105:41

He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river.

1 Corinthians 10:4

And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

Psalm 78:20

Behold, he smote the rock, that the waters gushed out, and the streams overflowed; can he give bread also? can he provide flesh for his people?

Yes, Jesus Christ is the Living bread. He gave his flesh and blood on the cross of calvary. He is the way, the truth, and the life: The only way to The Father. He offers the Living Waters to all who are athirst, and come to Him.

John 4:13

Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:

John 4:14

But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

Revelation 22:17

And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

Isaiah 55:1

Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.

Isaiah 55:6

Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:

Isaiah 55:7

Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

Many thirst and will not come. They refuse to repent, and seek refuge in the Rock. Their faith may be in a false Christ, who lies about eternal life. Their faith is in their good works, which do follow the new birth, but are not keeping us saved.

But the ONLY life which The Lord Jesus Christ offers is ETERNAL.  He is the Rock. His work is perfect. He keeps us by his amazing grace, the same grace that saved us at salvation. He cannot fail.

Deuteronomy 32:4

He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.

Isaiah 2:10

Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty.

Salvation is of The Lord, and cannot be lost. What cannot be earned by works, cannot be squandered by works. If we could lose eternal life, then it is not eternal and Christ Jesus would be a liar. If we could by works lose this life, then how would we regain it, if not by works? The FACT is that God, who cannot lie,  has promised us that HE will perform this work in us until the day of redemption! And remember, His work is perfect!

Philippians 1:6

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

Jesus Christ promised ETERNAL life, and that no man will pluck one of His elect out of his hand. That includes every man who has ever been saved.

John 10:28

And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

John 10:29

My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

His work is perfect. Our flesh is still weak, but His Spirit has overcome the world, the curse of sin and the sting thereof; death. When we do sin, we have an advocate, our loving Saviour and High Priest: The Lord Jesus Christ. We cannot undo eternal life, how could we who are temporal affect such a transition? God alone is the author of life itself,  and He is the author and finisher of our faith! Accordingly,we are told to confess our sins directly to God.

1 John 1:8

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

1 John 1:9

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:10

If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

We who are saved have the earnest of the inheritance, the seal of the Holy Spirit. It is a guaranteed policy- His eternal life assurance!

2 Corinthians 1:21

Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God;

2 Corinthians 1:22

Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

Ephesians 1:12

That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.

Ephesians 1:13

In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

Ephesians 1:14

Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

The same power which has raised The Lord Jesus Christ WILL raise up his elect at the last day!

1 Corinthians 6:14

And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.

John 6:39

And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

John 6:40

And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

God is The Rock. He cannot lie.

He does not change. His work is perfect.

His promises are true. His word is holy

and perfect. If sin can separate us from

God after salvation, then Jesus Christ

is a liar. HE said it is ETERNAL LIFE.

Everlasting.

The real problem is that there

are wolves and goats among the sheep,

and hirelings watching over the flock.

There are tares among the wheat, false

converts, who prayed a prayer but were

never born again. They “believed” in a way

out of hell, but have never repented of their

sin against our holy God!

They thirsted for life, but have never COME

humbly to the water of life to drink freely.

They have merely acknowledged it’s existence.

The bad fruit which we see manifested in “Christians” who have fallen away are most likely false converts who were trying to “be a Christian” by going to a church, and living a certain way. They were never regenerated, made a new creature, born again of the Spirit. They are not brethren who have “walked away from God” and forsaken their birthright. They are twice fold children of the devil, spiritual bastards.

Matthew 23:15

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

But God is faithful. He has promised to perform this work in His children, and we have faith in Him alone to prevail. He is our Rock!

Psalm 61:2

From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
