Should the spirit behind your 'worship music' match with carnal Hollywood action shows, disco movies, and Charismatic confusion?
1 John 4:1
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
Juxtaposition is a powerful tool which can be used to reveal the difference, the contrast between the light and the darkness. It can also be used to illustrate the lack of contrast, where it should be present. Such is the case in this brief video. Clips from some recognizable and worldly TV shows and movies were set to modern ‘worship music’ in order to test whether there is contrast, or unity.
Juxtaposition: an act or instance of placing close together or side by side, especially for comparison or contrast.
Most modern church attenders in this day and age we live in would argue on behalf of personal preference, and from a position that the Bible is ‘silent’ about music styles. But is the Bible silent about God’s children using the ways of the world to worship Him? Is He silent when it comes to defiling the temple of The Living God? Is the Bible silent about allowing sin in the camp?
If a style of music is used for all manner of carnal “entertainment” genres such as violent action shows, porn movies, addictive video games, and blasphemous Hellywood movies over and over again, can we not label that style worldly- if not down right evil? Is it not the style of choice for the spirit of antichrist now working in the world?
1 Corinthians 16:13
Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.
There are great contrasts in the Holy scriptures. There are God’s children, and the children of the wicked one. Holy or profane. Life or death.
Leviticus 18:30
Therefore shall ye keep mine ordinance, that ye commit not any one of these abominable customs, which were committed before you, and that ye defile not yourselves therein: I am the LORD your God.
1 John 1:5
This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
1 John 1:6
If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
Ezekiel 20:7
Then said I unto them, Cast ye away every man the abominations of his eyes, and defile not yourselves with the idols of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.
Ezekiel 44:23
And they shall teach my people the difference between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.
GOD is Holy. In Him is no darkness at all. He desires to be worshipped in Spirit and in truth. That is only through the Holy Spirit. We cannot combine unclean spirits with the Holy Spirit and expect our Holy God to ignore that abomination! Our personal preference does not matter. We will reap what we sow.
In the mixing of the music with the worldly visuals it can be demonstrated that the fruit is of the same carnal tree. Otherwise, they would not evoke the same compositional style. Changing the words has no effect on the style of the music. It is the music of the world.
1 John 2:15
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
This one verse proves that God does NOT want to be worshipped with worldly
music, this music that makes millions of dollars for Satan’s pornographic-propaganda-pushers, new-age-necromancers and guitar-gripping gurus. He does not share His holiness with the devils craft.
Isaiah 42:8
I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.
Isaiah 48:11
For mine own sake, even for mine own sake, will I do it: for how should my name be polluted? and I will not give my glory unto another.
The HOLY Spirit will not inspire a believer to copy the style which Satan has chosen to receive his worship, in order to use it to worship the one TRUE GOD. The Holy Spirit will lead us into all truth, and away from the carnal lusts and the worldly, popular things.
John 14:26
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Luke 16:15
And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.
God’s will is for us to be sanctified, set apart. Then we are meet for the Master’s use.
1 Thessalonians 4:3
For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:
2 Timothy 2:21
If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.
Would Almighty God consider “Christian Soap Operas” holy? Married couples could star, and they could quote scripture, and pray...in-between love scenes. Sinners who are addicted to Soap Operas could hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ, (in between the rape scenes, blackmail, lying, and resurrected evil twins trying to take over the world.) The show would have to be Soapy enough to get lots of ratings and viewers- but that is so that it can be used as an evangelism tool! (Note: This idea is tongue in cheek.)
You must (hopefully) concede that the above idea is ridiculous. Certainly the same reaction should apply to defiling what should be the solemn, holy, and set apart worship of The Creator and Redeemer of mankind by attempting to use the carnal worldly forms of ‘worship’ endorsed by Satan himself.
Galatians 6:7
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
Galatians 6:8
For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
Psalm 4:3
But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him.
